Hey there! I hope you’re having a nice Sunday. I’m sorry that I’m late in posting this, I’ve been having issues with uploading pictures.

I will be posting Day 6 & Day 7 of my clean eating challenge together in one post tomorrow.  In the meantime, I want to share this delicious recipe with you.

Pizza is the #1 food I cannot live without. In fact, if I had to pick 1 meal to eat for breakfast, lunch, & dinner every day, pizza would be it.

I have never made homemade pizza crust or homemade pizza sauce before, so this recipe was a first for me. The calories are comparable to that of regular store bought pizza, but it does fit into the “clean eating” category.

Here are the ingredients you’ll need for the pizza sauce (you want to make this a few hours ahead of time to allow the flavors to blend):

  • 1/2 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1/2 can tomato sauce (about 4 oz.)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp. minced garlic
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 packet of stevia (not pictured..oops)

Mix all ingredients together and let stand several hours to let flavors blend. (No cooking necessary).

Here are the ingredients you’ll need for the pizza crust:

  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.

In a large bowl combine flour and salt. Make a well in the middle and add honey and yeast mixture. Stir well to combine. Cover and set in a warm place to rise for a few minutes.

Roll dough on a floured pizza pan (or a pizza stone) and poke a few holes in it with a fork. Set aside.

Next, add your sauce onto the dough, along with any other desired toppings. I used fresh mozzarella, yellow peppers (on my side) and pepperoni (on B’s side).

Bake for about 20 minutes or until desired crispiness. Enjoy!
